My Egyptian friend Walid recommended Dahab as a starting point for my Sinai explorations.<\/p><p>From the very first moment, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere.<\/p><p>I chose to stay at Mirage Village, a quiet spot at the northern end of the lively beach promenade. I can recommend this 2-3* beach hotel with diving center to anyone who isn&#8217;t looking for luxury. I always felt that the hotel slogan \u201cIt&#8217;s not a hotel, it feels like home\u201d was true.<\/p><p>Due to its central location on the Sinai Peninsula, Dahab is an ideal starting point for exploring this fascinating desert peninsula. This little town offers everything an individual tourist could wish for. It captivates with a mix of Egyptian and Mediterranean flair on the Red Sea. You can find out more about this place as an alternative to Sharm El Sheik <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dahab\">here<\/a>.<\/p><p>For organizing and booking all of the Sinai tours described here (climbing Mount Sinai with a visit to St. Catherine&#8217;s Monastery, swiming in Wadi el Wesh Wash, and the White &amp; Red Canyon), I recommend Rehab, whom I met at the Mirage Village and valued as a tour operator.
